It’s worth noting that Anand Mahindra had gifted a brand new Thar SUV to Mohammed Siraj after Team India’s historic victory against Australia in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. The Men in Blue had defeated Aussies by 2-1 in 2021.
Along with Siraj, Mahindra had gifted Thar SUV to Shubman Gill, Shardul Thakur, Navdeep Saini, Washington Sundar, and T Natarajan. All these youngsters had made crucial contributions in Team India’s triumph.
Talking about the game, Sri Lanka had decided to bat after winning the toss but didn’t get the kind of start they needed. Jasprit Bumrah dismissed Kusal Perera in the first over after which Siraj bowled an incredible spell.
Mohammad Siraj dismissed 4 batters in a single over and made sure that the Sri Lankan innings never got the kind of momentum it needed. He eventually finished with the figures of 6-21 in his 7-over spell.
Hardik Pandya too scalped 3 wickets as Sri Lanka were bowled out for just 50 runs in 15.2 overs. The Indian opening pair of Ishan Kishan and Shubman Gill chased down the target in just 6.1 overs leading Team India to a victory by 10 wickets.
