The second semi-final of the Caribbean Premier League was a treat for the fans as they were entertained by a great show from both the teams that were battling it out to make it to the Final of the tournament. Apart from the tussle to make it to the final, there was one moment in the match that became the highlight of the clash and left Chris Gayle astonished.
The match between Guyana Amazon Warriors and St Kitts and Nevis Patriots was an amazing clash with the batsman from both teams coming to all guns blazing. Chris Gayle was seen in his element as he scored a fluent 42 runs off just 27 deliveries. However, there was one incident in the match in the fourth over of the second inning which left Chris Gayle astonished.

It all happened in the fourth over of the SKNP inning when Odean Smit was bowling to Chris Gayle. Odean Smith started his first over with a wide, which was followed by a boundary by Gayle off the very next ball. The second legal delivery of the over brought a surprise which left Chris Gayle astonished.

The ball hit Gayle’s bat so hard that the bat was shattered into two pieces. The seasoned campaigner tried to hit the delivery through the off-side but his bat broke into two pieces and all that was left in his hands was the handle of the bat. The batsman was definitely taken by surprise.
As for the match, SKNP skipper Dwayne Bravo opted to bowl first after winning the toss. The bowlers did a good job of restricting their opponents to just 178 in their quota of 20 overs. The competitive total by Guyana Amazon Warriors proved to be a cakewalk for the SKNP batsmen as they made light work of the target given to them. The target was achieved quite easily by SKNP in just 17.5 overs as they stormed into the CPL Final.
