Punjab Kings won’t be a very happy team at the moment. In their match against Rajasthan Royals on 21st September, they came very close to the win but succumbed to pressure yet again. One of the disappointments of the game was Deepak Hooda, who has one other reason to worry apart from his performance in the match. The PBKS all rounder has come under BCCI ACU radar for his recent Instagram post.
BCCI has a stern policy against corruption and the Anti-Corruption Unit keeps a close watch on players’ social media interactions. The grand league which is being played in UAE has been overseen vigilantly by the ACU. PBKS player Deepak Hooda posted a picture on his Instagram handle ahead of the clash against Rajasthan Royals which has caught the attention of the unit.
Deepak Hooda under BCCI ACU radar
The post by Deepak Hooda has come under scrutiny as the post hinted his selection in the playing XI even before the match started. The Anti-Corruption Unit has proper guidelines for the players regarding what to do and what not to do. The Unit will examine the post and see if it violates the rules set by them. The PBKS allrounder would hope for a favourable result.
The match between PBKS and RR turned out be an exciting one as it went right down to the wire. Punjab Kings were in it till the 19th over of the second inning, but lost the plot in the last over when they needed just 4 runs off 6 deliveries. Kartik Tyagi bowled perhaps one of the best last overs in the history of IPL to defend 4 runs.
The duo of KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal batted splendidly and produced a century partnership for Punjab Kings and the win looked like a formality from there, however Tyagi turned the game on its head with his exceptional last over to clinch a famous last over victory for Rajasthan Royals. The win has propelled the Royals to fifth position while PBKS have slipped on to seventh position.
