The ongoing edition of the continental event has witnessed plenty of rain disturbances in the Central provinces of Sri Lanka, making things quite challenging for the games to progress. The highly-anticipated game between India and Pakistan saw a huge disturbance on September 10 owing to intense rainfall. Thankfully, there was a reserve day that saw the continuation of a match on the subsequent day (September 11).
Meanwhile, the Men in Blue tasted victory in both games against Pakistan and Sri Lanka in the Super 4 stage. Team India won the game by a humongous margin of 228 runs against Pakistan before beating Sri Lanka by 41 runs to make it two wins in a row. Rightly so, they booked their berth in their 11th Asia Cup final. India have won seven Asia Cup trophies (six in One-Day Internationals and once in Twenty20 Internationals).

Groundsmen have been working extremely hard in Colombo in the ongoing edition of the continental event. They did a superb job by placing and removing pitch covers whenever necessary in order to protect the pitch from rain and other adverse weather conditions. It also helped prevent the pitch from getting wet and damaged. They deserve a lot of credit for taking a measured approach at the right time.
Meanwhile, a picture of Rohit Sharma handing over the award to the groundsmen spread like wildfire on social media channels. The majority of the users thought that it was for real and lauded the Indian skipper for his heartwarming gesture. However, the picture of Rohit Sharma giving his award to Sri Lankan groundsmen is not true as it was edited in the first place.

Meanwhile, Pakistan will lock horns with Sri Lanka in the upcoming game at R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. The winner of the game will take on Team India in the final showdown. However, if the rain plays a spoilsport in the game, then Sri Lanka will automatically qualify for the final. It is due to the fact that Sri Lanka have a better Net Run Rate (-0.200) as compared to Pakistan’s Net Run Rate (-1.892).
