The Pakistan tour of New Zealand has been abandoned as the visitors’ received a security alert from the New Zealand Government. It wasn’t a rare day as Pakistan’s ‘Fool Proof security’ was again the matter of concern. The tour had to kick-off with the 1st ODI at Rawalpindi but the Kiwis didn’t even leave for the ground, owing to the security alert. It was after 18 years that a New Zealand side was touring Pakistan but the tour had to be abandoned without a match being played.
Just a few minutes before the match was to start, the NZ Cricket CEO David White issued a statement informing about the security alert he received from the New Zealand Government and said that the NZ team is abandoning the tour. He further stated that the arrangements are being made for the return of the Kiwi players to their nation.
Pakistan’s ‘Fool Proof’ Security
In reply to David White’s statement, the PCB wrote on twitter, about the excellency of their intelligence system and tried to convince the NZ side about their security. “PCB and Govt of Pakistan made fool proof security arrangements for all visiting teams.” PCB’s tweet said.
What was hilarious about it was that a silly spelling mistake was made in the tweet. ‘Foolproof security’ was incorrectly written and netizens took no time to create a buzz about it. The changed meaning of the word ‘Foolproof’ made the tweet sound funny and the PCB got trolled for it.

The meaning of the word ‘Foolproof’ is ‘incapable of going wrong’. Whereas, what ‘fool proof’ tends to say is ‘safe from the fools’.
The cancellation of this tour is a big blow for the PCB. The Board is trying to bring international cricket back to the country but abandoning of this tour might now affect the process. The England men’s cricket team’s tour of Pakistan is on the verge of cancellation as well. Some reports suggest that the England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB) is now planning to cancel tour due to the persistent security issues.
