The second and the last Test match of the Test series between India and Sri Lanka got underway in Bengaluru on 12th March. The second match is a Pink-Ball Test where India will look to complete a clean sweep while Sri Lanka will look to level the series. Only in the second over, the match witnessed ultimate chaos on the field as Mayank Agarwal & Sri Lankan players create so much drama in a single ball.
Mayank Agarwal was run-out on a no-ball
The Indian skipper Rohit Sharma opted to bat first after winning the toss and drama ensued when the second over was in effect. Vishwa Fernando was bowling to Mayank Agarwal and the fourth delivery of the over was a nip-backer which caught Mayank in the crease. The Sri Lankan players appealed for an LBW but the umpire was not convinced and nodded his head in a ‘NO’.
The opener saw the ball rolling with no fielder near it and ran for a single, but the skipper on the other end was not interested. He sent Mayank back but it was way too late for the batsman to make it to his crease in time. Jayawickrama scurried from point, collected the ball and threw it to the keeper who broke the bails ultimately. Though it was a no-ball by the bowler, a batsman can be run-out off a no-ball.

The Indian top order failed as the Sri Lankan bowlers took regular wickets and after the end of the first session, the Indian team has lost 4 wickets already with Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer on the crease. Both these batsmen would look to build a partnership and take their team to a competitive total. The pitch is behaving very differently and it seems like batting is going to be very tough on the wicket.
