Bangladesh’s wicketkeeper-batsman Mushfiqur Rahim made the headlines after he was dismissed in a bizarre fashion during the third ODI against the New Zealand cricket team at Shere Bangla National Stadium, Dhaka. The hosts expected a lot from the experienced campaigner to deliver the goods but the latter failed to hunker himself at the crease as he threw away his wicket by making a terrible mistake.
The incident happened during the first ball of the 16th over when Lockie Ferguson bowled a good delivery to Mushfiqur Rahim and the latter tried to defend the ball in the first place. As it turned out, the ball quickly bounced right in front behind quickly going back towards the stumps. Mushfiqur Rahim had only one thing in mind, which was to prevent the ball from hitting the stumps.
