Deepak Chahar issues massive update on MS Dhoni’s IPL future
Mahendra Singh Dhoni is hailed as one of the most successful leader in the history of Indian Premier League. There are speculations about IPL 2023 being the last edition for the former Indian skipper. However, CSK pacer Deepak Chahar believes MS Dhoni can easily the next IPL season as well.
Deepak Chahar had a discussion about the upcoming IPL season on India Sports. “MS Dhoni will play in his last IPL. You saw him practice. How is his batting going on?” one of the reporters asked on India Sports.
“No one has said that this would be his final year. At least, he hasn’t. Hopefully, he will play more. We don’t know any such thing; we want him to play as much as he can,” Deepak Chahar replied.
“He knows when to retire; we saw it when he did in Tests and international cricket. No one else knows. I just hope he continues to play; it’s a privilege to play under him. It has been a dream to play with him. He’s in good touch as well; you will see that when he bats in the IPL this year,” the CSK pacer further added.
It’s worth mentioning that Chennai Super Kings have performed exceedingly well under MS Dhoni. They have already clinched 4 IPL titles and have reached the playoffs stage 11 out of 13 times.
Meanwhile, Deepak Chahar is eyeing a comeback into the side after missing the entire last season due to an injury. The premier pacer was bought for a whopping Rs 14 crore at the IPL 2022 mega auction but his unavailability made things terrible for the Chennai-based franchise.
Deepak Chahar looks fully fit ahead of the IPL 2023 edition. CSK have also bought Ben Stokes for the IPL 2023 season and will expect the English all-rounder to provide the necessary strength to their squad. CSK will look to move ahead from the terrible outing in IPL 2022 where they lost 10 out of their 14 league games and were placed at the 9th position in the points table.
