Team India is playing South Africa in the second T20 of the 5-match series which started on Thursday. South Africa outclassed India and won the match quite easily by 7 wickets owing to a 131-run stand between Rassie van der Dussen and David Miller. As the Proteas took to the field today, Quinton de Kock was missing from their Playing XI and the skipper Temba Bavuma explains why the explosive batsman missed out on the 2nd T20I.

Temba Bavuma explains the reason

In the absence of KL Rahul who has been ruled out of the series due to an injury, Rishabh Pant is leading the Indian side. The senior players are taking a break and some new faces have been roped in to represent the Indian side. The first match saw the Proteas dominating the Indian side especially in the latter half of the match. As for the second clash, Quinton de Kock was ruled out of the match and Temba Bavuma explains why he had to make the change.

Quiton de Kock is an integral part of the South African team in the shorter format, however the southpaw had to miss out on the second game due to a hand injury, as informed by the SA skipper. De Kock has always been impressive against the Indian team and the Proteas would have loved to have the batsman available. Temba Bavuma explains the reason for De Kock missing out on the second game at the toss.

At the time of writing this article, team India has already lost the match by 4 wickets. Earlier, Bavuma chose to bowl first after winning the toss. The Indian batsmen could never really settle and the team lost wickets at regular intervals.

As a result, they could only reach a below-par total of 148 runs. Though the bowlers did pretty well in the first 10 overs, the spinners were taken to the cleaners. With the help of an 81-run inning by Klassen, South Africa won the match and took a 2-0 lead in the series.
