India’s opening batter Shubman Gill hit the sweet spot against Sri Lanka in the ongoing World Cup 2023 game at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The right-handed batsman took time to get accustomed to the conditions and once he got into the groove, there was literally stopping him as he took the bowling attack to the cleaners, courtesy of his fearless brand of cricket.
Shubman Gill and Virat Kohli stitched together an 189-run partnership for the second wicket before Gill was dismissed in an unlucky manner. Shubman Gill who was batting on 92 cheekily attempted to nudge the ball over the third man for a certain boundary off Dilshan Madushanka’s delivery. Nevertheless, the left-arm fast-medium bowler took the pace off, which confused Gill at the last second.
