In his 5th innings in the Dharamshala Test, Sarfaraz, batting at no. 5, went on to slam 56 runs in just 60 balls. His innings included an outrageous ramp shot off Mark Wood’s delivery. In the 76th over of the match, Sarfaraz Khan knelt down to one of Wood’s deliveries and used the pace to lift it to the third-man region. The ball raced away, and the third man, Shoaib Bashir, had no chance of stopping it.
It has become a trademark shot for Sarfaraz Khan. During his IPL stint with RCB back in 2015, he impressed fans and even Virat Kohli when he executed this shot a couple of times. However, Mark Wood felt rather humiliated after being hit for a boundary.
In the very next delivery, Wood’s ball struck Sarfaraz’s thigh pad and landed on the ground. The batter found himself out of his crease, prompting Wood to sprint in an attempt to run him out. However, Sarfaraz quickly returned to the crease, though Wood still kicked the ball in frustration. The ball missed the stumps, and the bowler was observed muttering some words at the 26-year-old batter.

Nevertheless, Sarfaraz remained composed and chose not to respond verbally to the sledging. The batter, instead of a verbal retort, replied with his bat. In the next over, he hit Mark Wood for a boundary and a six. Sarfaraz went on to score a fifty, but his innings was halted in the 84th over when he attempted to cut Shoaib Bashir’s delivery, resulting in an edge that landed in slip fielder Joe Root’s hands.Â
