Tempers ran high in the 30th game of the Indian Premier League 2022, which took place between Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals. Chasing a steep target of 218, KKR batsmen had no room for any mistake. The Kolkata skipper played a brilliant knock, but couldn’t take his team to the winning line. During his inning, Shreyas Iyer loses his cool as Venkatesh Iyer almost got him run out after denying a run at the end moment.

Jos Butler is in scintillating form this year as the English batsman scored his second century of the season in just his sixth match. He was aided by the other top order batsmen and Rajasthan gave KKR a stiff target of 218. The KKR batsmen were on course, especially with their skipper taking the charge. It was during this time Shreyas Iyer loses his cool on Venkatesh Iyer who refused to take a run and almost affected a run out.
The episode came on the last delivery of the 16th over when Trent Boult was bowling to Venkatesh Iyer. Boult bowled a full-length delivery outside off and Venkatesh sliced it away. Shreyas Iyer wanted to take the second run and had already covered half distance of the pitch, but Venkatesh sent him back in time.
Shimron Hetmyer was running in from deep cover and quickly released a precise throw to the batter’s end. Fortunately, both the batsmen were safe, however, it made Shreyas Iyer lose his cool.

At the end, Rajasthan Royals won the match owing to Yuzvendra Chahal’s hat-trick which turned the game completely in RR’s favour. Chahal claimed 4 KKR wickets in his last over and dented the hopes of his opponent to win the match. With this victory, Rajasthan has now got 8 points in their kitty, whereas Kolkata only has 6 points in seven matches.
