Yes, it’s the mid season transfer rule that has been introduced at this season’s IPL. So what is mid season transfer in IPL and which players are available?

The Mid Season Transfer in IPL
In a first-of-its-kind move, the Indian Premier League (IPL) will introduce the mid season transfer of players between franchises. This move makes players eligible to switch to another franchise. A mid season transfer could ideally suit the franchises to come up with new ideas, and their think tanks to rope in players who could fit into their game plans.

Knowing The Mid Season Transfer Rule
So here is how the Mid Season Transfer Rule works and applies:

1) The mid season transfer applies to both, capped and uncapped player
2) All 8 franchises are eligible to transfer players mid way into the tournament i.e after playing 7 matches each.
3) A player is eligible for transfer only if he has played 2 matches or less before the transfer is applicable.
