India beat Sri Lanka by 10 wickets and lifted their eighth Asia Cup title. Siraj was adjudged the Man of the Match for his match-winning bowling spell.

Pakistani cricketer Umar Akmal has been going through a lot of hardship after being suspended back in 2020 for violating the Pakistan Cricket Board’s anti-corruption code. The Pakistani international was banned for a total of three years. Nevertheless, the cricketer filed an appeal to the International Court of Arbitration which led to a reduction of his ban from three years to 1 year.
The experienced campaigner was last seen in action during the previous edition of the Pakistan Super League. The Quetta Gladiators batsman hogged the limelight by scoring a quickfire 43 off just 14 deliveries against Islamabad United in the last concluded PSL edition. The 33-year-old cricketer played his last international game back in 2019. He is hoping to make a comeback in the national team.
