Team India’s former batter Yuvraj Singh has criticized Pooja Vastrakar’s run-out decision in the game against Sri Lanka in the ongoing Women’s Asia Cup.
The legendary cricketer expressed his views about the decision and called it a poor decision as Vastrakar’s bat seemed to be inside the crease.

Pooja Vastrakar was given out by the third umpire during India’s Asia Cup 2022 opener against Sri Lanka at the Sylhet Outer Cricket Stadium.

Yuvraj looked utterly displeased with the decision as he tweeted “That is such a poor decision by the third umpire! Should have given pooja vastrakar benefit of doubt !! #indiavssrilanka #WomensAsiaCup”

The run-out decision was slammed by other former cricketers and cricket fans as well.
Vastrakar was adjudged run-out on the fifth delivery of the 20th over of India’s innings as Sri Lanka’s Kavisha Dilhari made a quick throw and wicketkeeper Anushka Sanjeewani removed the bails in no time.
The Indian batter had her bat fully stretched as the bails came out of the groove. On the big screen, it clearly appeared that the bails came out when Pooja’s bat had crossed the crease.
Despite the decision being so close, the third umpire didn’t give the benefit of doubt to the batter and gave the decision in favor of the fielding side.
The commentators too were surprised by this bizarre decision as Pooja Vastrakar marched back to the pavilion.

However, this decision didn’t cost India much as they went on to grab a comfortable 41-run victory over the Sri Lankan team.
Jemimah Rodriguez was the stand-out batter for women in blue as she played a sublime knock of 76 off 53 balls while skipper Harmanpreet Kaur chipped in with 30-ball 33 to help India post a competitive total of 150.
