MS Dhoni is away from the cricketing action since the World Cup ouster. The cricketer is expected to return in the action by the end of this year or in early 2020. A recent report informs that the real reason behind Dhoni’s continuous unavailability is his wrist injury which occurred during the World Cup. Also, Dhoni was struggling with a back niggle and that’s why he is taking time to recover.
Dhoni Set For The Bollywood Debut
Amidst all this, according to a report by Koimoi, Dhoni is likely to make his acting debut alongside Sanjay Dutt. The casting of a movie titled Doghouse has begun and the story of the film will revolve around three underdogs. Sanjay Dutt is already roped in while the other roles to be finalised. The report further states that Emraan Hashmi and Suniel Setty have been approached for the remaining lead roles while Dhoni will make a cameo appearance in the movie.
The director of the movie is Samir Karnik who last time directed 2012 film ‘Chaar Din Ki Chandni’ starring Tushar Kapoor, Anupam Kher, Om Puri. If Dhoni plays a cameo in this film then it will be his big-screen debut. But Dhoni has already acted in a Bollywood movie before but the movie never released.
In 2010, Dhoni was set to make his acting debut with the movie titled ‘Hook Ya Crook’. This movie was based on cricket and John Abraham was in the lead role. But unfortunately, this movie never released and we never got to see MS Dhoni’s acting in this movie.
However, we have seen glimpses of Dhoni’s acting in advertisements. It is not officially confirmed whether he will play a role in Sanjay Dutt-starrer or not but if this happens then it will be exciting to watch. Talking about cricket, 38-year old has made himself unavailable for the series against Bangladesh in November. Dhoni may make himself available for West Indies series in December.
